BRUINCARD
Your BruinCard is your passport to life at UCLA. It servies as the official university ID, debit card, library card, meal card, access card and even a laundry card (say goodbye to stashing all of that spare change!). If you need a replacement, you just need to visit Kerckhoff 123 or Sproul 150 and pay $23.50.
More information on your BruinCard can be found here:
https://secure.bruincard.ucla.edu/bcw/web/Home.aspx
PARKING PERMIT
If you
requested a parking permit, you can pick it up in
Young Hall
3021. Parking
structures are spread out across the UCLA campus, so your
designated parking lot will be across the campus. If you
live close to campus, you may want to consider taking the
bus.
If you paid for a daily permit during orientation week and
plan to buy a quarterly pass, bring your receipt to the
parking office. They will reimburse two days of parking
permits. However, be prepared to wait in line for at least
an hour. If you buy a quarterly permit, you can park in
MOST lots after 4:30 on weekdays (besides your designated
lot) Check specifics and other information at
http://www.transportation.ucla.edu
ESTABLISH CALIFORNIA RESIDENCY
See http://www.registrar.ucla.edu/FAQ/residencefaq.htm for more information about

disbursed. Check out www.fao.ucla.edu or call
3102060400.
ENGLISH REQUIREMENT
International

(TOP). You can registrar and obtain more information at
www.oid.ucla.edu/TOP/index/html. You must pass the TOP exam to TA.
DESK SPACE
To get a desk to store your books and
supplies and study, please ask any of the professors whose
work interests you if s/he has an extra desk you can use.
This gives you a good opportunity to see how office life is
for that particular research group which can be helpful in
making a decision on which group to join.

AND FINALLY...
RELAX :D.
A great spot to rest your brain and get awesome affordable food is the SEAS Cafe which is a short walk away in 5800 Boelter Hall (http://www.yelp.com/biz/seas-cafe-los-angeles). Also, explore UCLA and bask in the beauty that is UCLA. Did you know there is a creek (Stone Canyon Creek) on campus next to the Anderson School of Management? You can even go bird watching, too (http://www.birdsofwestwood.com/birds.htm)! Another place to chill is the coffee room (Young Hall
3037). You may
buy coffee from the storeroom using your
BruinCard. Money can be put on your BruinCard at kiosks in
Ackerman or at www.ursa.ucla.edu.
