Dear first year students,
Congratulations
on being accepted into the Chemistry and Biochemistry
graduate program and welcome to UCLA! Go Bruins!
The department has appointed two senior graduate students
as your Teaching Assistant Consultants (TACs) in order to
aid you. Please feel free to contact us during your initial few
months regarding any concerns or questions you may have. We
will do our best to guide you while you get settled into
graduate student life.
The first day of orientation begins on Monday, September 14th at 9:00 AM (breakfast at 8:30 AM)
with discussions lead by the Graduate Student Affairs Office and continues through Friday September 18th.
We have designed the orientation to address most of the
questions and concerns you would have as an incoming
graduate student and we would like to stress the
importance and inherent benefit of your participation (more fun this way too!). A
series of talks, panel discussions and other activities
will help you to not only recognize available resources,
but also prepare you for becoming an undergraduate Teaching
Assistant (TA).
Please meet us in Young Hall 2033 on
September 14th for your first day at UCLA.
We look forward to seeing you this coming fall!
Best regards,
Your TACs
