Exploring Your Universe (EYU) is an annual event featuring a myriad of activities and demonstrations open to the public to encourage interest in science fields. Last year, EYU had 4,500 attendees and this year the event is expected to attract over 5,000 people. Activities for all age groups are available as well as planetarium shows, grad student talks, solar telescope viewing, comet making, weather tours, dinosaur fossils and more!

SMACS is looking for volunteers to man our booth and conduct demos for EYU attendees. This year EYU is providing all volunteers with lunch and a free shirt; however, in order to facilitate the event, all SMACS volunteers need to complete a short online registration before October 31st. The link to the registration can be found here.

Be sure to put down SMACS as your exhibit of preference, and remember which times you signed up for! If you are helping set-up our exhibit, please arrive about an hour early.

For more information about volunteering and about Exploring Your Universe, feel free to contact us at acsbruins@chem.ucla.edu or speak to Samuel Chiang or Katherine Sheu at one of our meetings.
